All About Good Charlotte

It all started out when . . .

Twins Joel and Benji Madden were 16. They were inspired to start a band when they saw the Beastie Boys for the first time on stage in 1995. Although they had no expierience in music at all, the boys were lucky enough to have two of their closest high school friends in the band. There was drummer Aaron and bassist Paul. Benji learned how to play the guitar from one that had been collecting dust in the closet with Paul to help him with the basics. After the boys graduated high school they decided to skip college and put music first.
After the twins moved from the subrbs of Maryland to Annapolis, they struggled to make ends meet with jobs like stock boys, waiters and even shampoo boys at the local beauty shop. Along came Billy who was playing in a band called Overflow at the time, and was impressed by a Good Charlotte gig. Billy became fast friends with the Madden brothers, even letting the twins stay at his place when they had gotten kicked out of their apartment. Eventually Billy had become the 5th member of the band.
After releasing their self titled album Good Charlotte in 2000 the groups lively and 70's inspired punk rock was well recieved among the bands like Blink 182, Green Day, and Sum 41. Aaron was eventually no longer in the band after the first album. They released their sophmore album in 2002 called The Young and The Hopeless. After a little time off the boys found a permanet Drummer. Chris Wilson. Now with a complete and permanet number of five the boys say it feels better than ever. In October 2004 Good Charlotte released their third album "The Chronicles of life and Death" which was dubbed the "Most anticipated CD of 2004" by Alternative Press Magazine. The boys have not let the fans down as they keep going and releasing smash hits like "Predictable" and "I Just wanna Live"
